Why these groups?

Hate exists everywhere, but rates of incidents or sentiment towards a certain community can be heightened depending on socio-cultural factors, demographics, geopolitical factors, location, and media. These seven groups were highlighted based on local research studies, the 2023 Hate Crime report by the London Police and other sources. While these groups are specifically highlighted in our campaign as part of our local focus, there are resources and community supports on various other identities available below.


While the Stop Tolerhating campaign focuses on 7 equity-denied groups, we recognize that many other communities in London also face hate and discrimination. This section is dedicated to highlighting additional and intersectional identities, along with the resources and supports available to them. We will continue to update this section as we discover and develop more resources for various groups.

Resources for seniors/aging population

Information about elder abuse: Resources and information compiled by the Government of Ontario on identifying, preventing, and addressing elder abuse. It highlights different types of abuse, signs to look out for, and provides guidance for both victims and those who suspect abuse in others, emphasizing the importance of support and intervention.

Age Friendly London Network: The Age Friendly London Network highlights the collaborative efforts of various community partners and organizations committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in London, Ontario. It offers resources and information about programs and initiatives designed to support the needs and well-being of seniors, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for aging individuals in the community.

Older Adults and Seniors Resources: LifeSpin has compiled a directory of resources for housing, health, specialized transportation, recreational actives, services for Indigenous residents, and other resources available to older adults.

Resources for South Asian Londoners

Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA): CASSA aims to empower South Asian communities in Canada through resource provision and advocacy on social justice issues. Their vision encompasses a Canada free from discrimination and hate, where all communities can actively participate in shaping the nation's future.

South Asian Canadians Health & Social Services (SACHSS): SACHSS is a not-for profit organization focused on improving the health and well-being of South Asian communities through various programs and services. It offers resources for health education, social support, and community engagement, aiming to address the unique challenges faced by South Asians in Canada.

 South Asian Women's Centre (SAWC): SAWC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering South Asian women through various programs and services that promote self-awareness and community engagement. It offers support in areas such as settlement, wellness, and advocacy, creating a safe space for women to connect and thrive.

South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario (SALCO): SALCO provides legal support and resources to low-income South Asian individuals in Ontario. Their services cover various areas of law, including immigration, tenancy rights, and gender-based violence.

Resources for immigrants, newcomers, and refugees to London 

London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP): LMLIP is dedicated to fostering a welcoming community for newcomers in London and Middlesex County. It focuses on improving immigration integration and supporting local stakeholders through collaboration, capacity building, and sharing resources to enhance the overall experience for immigrants and refugees in the area. 

London & Middlesex Immigration Portal: A one-stop location for information, resources, and support agencies who support newcomers moving to London, offering information on settlement services, community connections, and local support systems.

Newcomer Clinic: The Newcomers Clinic, operated by the London InterCommunity Health Centre in partnership with the Cross Cultural Learners Centre, provides essential healthcare services to government-assisted refugees during their first six months in Canada. The clinic focuses on early health assessments and acute care for newcomers who may have complex medical needs or lack access to primary care. 

Hate Reporting Tool: A comprehensive support services for individuals experiencing racism, Islamophobia, or xenophobia. It provides one-on-one assistance, mental health support, advocacy, and resources for navigating government systems, ensuring victims can report incidents effectively while receiving the help they need.

Resources for women in London

My Sisters’ Place: A centre for women and those who identify as women that provides drop-in and wrap-around services that promote mental health and well-being. My Sisters’ Place provides supports to those who may be experiencing gender-based violence, chronic mental health and physical challenges, homelessness or housing instability, substance abuse, or extreme poverty. 

Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program: Located at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program offers a variety of care services to those who are experiencing sexual violence and/or domestic violence. The team at the centre includes specialized nurses, doctors and social workers who provide services including emotional support and counselling, safety planning, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, testing/preventing of pregnancy, referrals and more. 

Project Shift: A guide with tips and practical tools for supporting girls and young women as they navigate online challenges and life experiences. This resource aims to foster open communication and understanding, empowering trusted adults to guide and protect youth in the digital age.

Single Women In Motherhood: A directory of London-based service providers focused on supporting those experiencing abuse, assault, or violence. It includes helpful links to community organizations, financial assistance programs, parenting resources, and wellness support, all aimed at empowering and assisting single mothers in their unique journeys. 

A Rights Guide for Girls, Young Women & Gender Nonconforming Youth: A guide developed by YMCA Canada designed to empower girls, young women, and gender nonconforming youth by providing information about their rights and how to advocate for them. It offers practical advice and tools for navigating personal and societal challenges.
