Equity and inclusion

The City of London has a Workplace Equity & Inclusion Action Plan and Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression (ARAO) Division. The division was formed in 2021 with the mandate to create and sustain action-focused, positive and lasting systemic change in the City of London, so that race or membership in an equity-denied group does not predict one’s access to opportunities or ability to engage whole heartedly in the London community.

Environmental initiatives

On April 23, 2019, London’s City Council approved the Declaration of a Climate Emergency.

The Climate Emergency Action Plan is a fundamental and required response to the City’s climate emergency declaration. The City has established new near-term and longer-term greenhouse gas reduction goals for both municipal operations and the community as a whole to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
