Southdale Road West and Bostwick Road Infrastructure Renewal Project

Southdale Road West is a busy road that transports many Londoners every day. To help provide a safe environment for all road users, the City will be installing wider sidewalks, in-boulevard bike lanes and widening the road from two to four lanes while simultaneously upgrading sewers and watermains underground.
This construction project is consistent with the recommendations of the Southdale Road West and Bostwick Road Environmental Assessment.
The planned improvements to the Southdale Road West and Bostwick Road area is scheduled to start in 2022. Some necessary advance construction work started in mid-January 2021 and is expected to be complete at the end of 2021.
The 2030 Transportation Master Plan prioritized road improvements to Southdale Road West and Bostwick Road to address future growth and accommodate all roadway users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
The above map shows the projects limits. In phase one, The City will be reconstructing Southdale Road West from Pine Valley Boulevard to Bostwick Road and Bostwick Road from Southdale Road West to Pack Road.

Necessary work in advance of next year’s construction began in mid-January 2021 and will continue until the end of 2021.
Construction is expected to start in 2022 and take approximately one year to complete.
