Dingman Drive is a street in the southwest corner of London. This street is expected to serve more people in the near future due to new development in the area.
To better serve the new development, this Environmental Assessment was initiated to consider improvements to Dingman Drive from Wellington Road to Highway 401 and improvements to the intersection of Dingman Drive and White Oak Road.
The study determined that Dingman Drive should be widened from two to four lanes to accommodate all road users, including vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The study also determined that the Dingman Drive and White Oak Road intersection should be realigned with a single lane roundabout.
The improvements to Dingman Drive will also include new active transportation elements such as sidewalks and bike paths.
The project team has prepared an Environmental Study Report that presents the Environmental Assessment results, including details on the road widening recommendation. This report is now available for public review. Detailed design and construction will follow completion of the Environmental Study Report.
The City sent out a notice of commencement to residents, business owners and interested stakeholders to notify them of the Environmental Assessment's start.
A Public Information Centre was scheduled virtually for June 17, 2019 - interested parties were encouraged to attend. The public provided comments specific to the Dingman Drive road improvements to the project team, which were critical to the development of this environmental assessment.
A Public Information Centre was scheduled for November 2019 at Regina Mundi Secondary School. The team provided all interested parties with an update on the project and listened to feedback that will be critical to shaping the recommendations provided by the Environmental Study Report.
